The Manitoba Association of Municipal Emergency Coordinators (MAMEC) is an association that brings together emergency coordinators throughout Manitoban municipalities, local Indigenous communities, and beyond. We strive to offer expert training, education, and best practices with our members to build strength, community, and resilience together as emergency management professionals. MAMEC membership is representative of Manitoban municipalities and local Indigenous communities, rather than individual emergency coordinators.

Training & Education
Alongside the specialized learning offered through the MAMEC Training Program, MAMEC represents a community that provides opportunities for mentorship, information sharing, and the development of industry standards. We strive to create inclusive, accessible, and enriching spaces that nurture the professional development of emergency coordinators at all skill levels.
Networking & Mentorship
Becoming a member of the MAMEC community automatically connects you with a wide network of emergency coordinators throughout the province, allowing you to develop connections with other emergency professionals across disciplines and organizations. In-person relationship building is most notably made possible through the annual MAMEC Conference, giving members the opportunity to learn from experts, engage in activities alongside fellow members, and expand their professional network.
Advocacy & Representation
MAMEC provides a collective and inclusive voice representing the needs and interests of emergency coordinators in Manitoban municipalities and local Indigenous communities. As disasters increase in frequency and continual changes are made to emergency response legislation, we need to work together and help each of our communities respond to and meet the challenges we face as emergency management professionals. There is power in numbers, and there has never been a more important time to ensure that we are heard as a whole.
MAMEC represents the interests of emergency practitioners through:
Providing a unified voice for emergency coordinators when addressing government on proposed changes in legislation that affects emergency practitioners and emergency response
MAMEC provides members with updates on governmental changes to legislation concerning community emergency management requirements
